When you are the witness to something historic, it is an honor to have the chance to capture the event on “film”. When KISS rolled into New York’s Madison Square garden on 10-10-09, it felt historic. The hometown heroes returning to the stage in Manhattan’s “World’s most famous arena”  on their Alive 35/Sonic Boom Tour.  I was there to witness this rock n roll party–up close and personal! This is some of my proudest work to date!   Rock n roll all nite and party everyday people!

Welcome back to rockstarpix.com – Check out my new gallery of ANVIL from “That Metal Show” taping in NYC on 9/28/09 in the Hard Rock Cafe!

Anvil was in NYC to tape a special 1 hour episode – Season 3 Premier of Eddie Trunk’s That Metal Show!  This is a first for this VH1 show, and ANVIL was there to kick off this exciting new season with a LIVE PERFORMANCE!!

ANVIL returned to NY/NJ this past weekend to partake in more press for their upcoming (OCT 6 2009) release of their DVD – ANVIL! THE STORY OF ANVIL.  Their Itinerary consisted of an autograph session and in-store performance at the famous Vintage Vinyl Record Store in Fords, NJ as well as a taping for  the Season Premier of the 3rd season of “THAT METAL SHOW” which airs on VH1 and VH1 classic this Saturday night 10pm (Check your local listings for times) (OCT 6, 2009) immediately following the TV DEBUT of ANVIL! THE STORY OF ANVIL!

LIPS, Glenn 5, and Robb Reiner also headed back to the beloved Village East Cinemas again for a screening of ANVIL! THE STORY OF ANVIL – “THE ANVIL EXPERIENCE”!  After the screening, they ripped through a classic set of their tunes, and despite the lack of lighting in the theater, they LIT the place up.  They were on FIRE!

On a rainy Friday night(8-28-09), NWOBHM Legends RAVEN brought their metal onslaught to their old stomping grounds Brooklyn, NY(no, it wasn’t at L’amours, this time around it was Club Europia). RAVEN is promoting their new album WALK THROUGH FIRE, and also treated the crowd to such classics as TAKE CONTROL, ROCK UNTIL YOU DROP, and BREAK THE CHAIN. I was there to catch the “Athletic Rock” trio’s blazing 85 minute set! Please go to  the Raven (8/28/09) collection and enjoy all the crash, bang and wallopip-ing live intensity of RAVEN!!!

This past weekend was a busy one for Canadian Metal Legends ANVIL. On Friday, July 31st they stormed the stage of Giants Stadium in an opening spot for AC/DC, and then on Saturday August 1st they played yet another “Anvil Experience” show in Manhattan’s  Village East Cinemas(which was followed by a taped interview segment for the show “Nightline”).www.rockstarpix.com was on hand to capture both events and I invite you to share in the continuing story of Anvil! On Sunday July 12th, 2009 the Whitsenake/Judas Priest tour rolled in Wantagh, NY(Jones Beach ampitheater) & I there to rock out at this Hard Rock/Heavy Metal event! I invite you to check some pretty kick ass photos of Mr. Coverdale and his band. I also captured 2 songs on video (”Is This Love” and “Still Of The Night”), which can be viewed on www.youtube.com/dkstar222 very soon. Enjoy the pix as much as I enjoyed taking them, and witnessing one kick ass Summer show!

Ok, As I am archiving my photos, I decided I will be uploading some photos from my past galleries with this format.  I’m going to start with my Lita Ford and SIXX AM galleries.   I like the flow of this site better than my past sites.  If you have been to sites before, and would like to see galleries from that site with this new gallery format, give a shout, let me know which galleries you would like to see, and I will post them!
